Wipe warmers with cloth wipes?

My dh is opposed to cloth wipes (though he's given in on cloth diapers), so we have the regular Prince Lionheart wipe warmer. It has disposable wipes in it. I wet 3-4 cloth wipes in the sink and just stick them in there along side the disposable wipes. No problems so far, except if I put too many in the disposable wipes get stuck and dh gets mad! The Lionheart warmer is nice because it has a little moisture pillow in the bottom to keep things wet. I just use plain water on my wipes so far, but my LO is EBF right now.

I boil my water too and add the solution to it.

I have never had a mold or mildew problem and my solution doesn't have tea tree oil in it...

I have FOUR of the Prince Lionheart wipes warmers, I love them that much. I like Kissaluv's lotion potion, and add a couple drops of tea tree to keep slimies away. I only need to change the water once a week or so. I wash around 15 wipes per load of diapers (I wash every couple of days).

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Another option that works well is OXO's wipes box that has the weight to keep the wipes popping only one at a time. It's not heated, but it works great for cloth wipes. Which btw, my favorite are Grovia hands down.

Loved our wipes warmer! Have known babies to get staph infections from moldy cloth wipes, so we always suggest distilled/boiled water or some sort of tea tree oil solution. Then mildew just isn't an issue. I love Baby Bits! They are fairly inexpensive for what you get (50 cups of solution) and already have tea tree oil in it. I made our own solution lots. Baby soap, water, tea tree, and lavender oil. My dh loved the wipes warmer. It really just made it easy for him.

I used plain water and then if I needed it, I put some Dr. B's baby in a foaming pump with water and used that as a "solution".

I have found that plain water does not wipe very nicely. When I am wrestling my 13 mo old with a large dirty I need it to glide smoothly.Does that sound strange?

For those with the Prince Lionheart warmer for cloth wipes, do you use with or without the pillow? I'm contemplating using without the pillow but would like to know how others are using it. I've used them with the pillows but they seems to get dried out too fast!

I never use the pillow. They are so expensive to change every month.

They key to keeping mold or stink at bay is only putting about two days worth of wet wipes in at a time and cleaning out the container with a disinfectant before putting in a new batch of wipes. A wipes warmer is the perfect environment to promote bacteria growth - dark, wet and warm. As long as I clean it, I have no issues. I love having pre-made warm wipes.
