My favorite PUL cover was softbums echo (they're OS too - so they last! They fit both my kids well at birth - one at 5 1/2 lbs and the other at 6 1/2.) My favorite wool cover was loveybums jersey wraps.

Ditto to the Thirsties Duo Wrap Size 1. If you like sized, the Thirsties XS is nice, too.

I agree if you want the sized the xs work really great. The thing I love about the duo size 1 is that they fit almost identical to the xs on the smallest rise, but fit my DD until around 3 months, so I got my money's worth.

Do you know what size baby to expect? Xs thirsties didn't fit my 5lb8oz or 6lb1oz well until they were well over 8 lbs.

I liked soft bums, loveybums, and bummis super lites.

I'm liking little joeys covers on my little guy. When he was even smaller, the bummis were great !

Re: Newborn stash...

my own. fit my 5lb 13oz baby girl up to 18 lb on my boys with no snap down rise. thy just have an elasticized scoop front. i use fitteds during the tiny leg stage for extra protection and then switch to small easy folds as they grow.
