Well, hopefully today will be better, no dead things at least.
Janine, what did you ask for?
Ohhh fun stuff Jess.

I asked for a Teapot, Mug, Cereal-bowl, and Sugar-bowl/Milk-jug as a set from a pottery in France....Heiner gave me a tip that he went to the same pottery that made my massive mug with the butterflies and flowers on it. He didn't get anything with flowers or butterflies because that stuff is crazy expensive but he said or rather confirmed that he went there because he's seen me Oooooo'ed and Ahhhhh'ed over everything in the building.

I thought it was making it easy for him and I'd be encouraged to eat healthier in the mornings.

True...When I first joined here Shannon was in pull-ups, Derry was in diapers, and Cami was scooting around on the floor. I only remember because my first CDs were BG's and I have a photo somewhere of Derry and Cami in them. I never put Shannon in CDs. Fynn wasn't even a thought!

Re: Basically it's Friday!

Just completed all my lesson plans and copies for the next 2 weeks. Feels good to be finished with that for the semester!

Jerry just stopped by and checked MH out a little early. He is headed in to get his check and goof off a bit with his Mom and MH.

Re: Basically it's Friday!

I have done a crazy amount of laundry and put all of it except for the kids' away. They will do that with me after school. I swept and mopped the living room, vacuumed the rugs, quick cleaned the bathroom, ran the dw, unloaded it and hand washed dishes and called around to optometrists in the area checking rates. I think I will talk to DH but maybe go to Watertown, my mom and dad will be there - it is my Dad's bday, get an eye appointment at 9 and hopefully if we find frames and she doesn't have eyes like E pick them up later that day. It will save us about $150 over getting it done in town. Then we can have lunch with my parents and maybe I will do some baking here to take to my Dad's apartment.

Re: Basically it's Friday!

Rosie's last pair of glasses cost $450. But she has a prism in it and they are the ones that go dark in the bright sunllght. I have never ever paid more than $250 for a pair for myself, and I am currently wearing a $20 pair I bought at one of those online places.

I'm seriously peeved now. The anti-nut thing at school has gone crazy. They sent out a letter because the holiday parties are coming up, and they've basically said no homemade stuff (duh) but also no baked goods from Costco or the grocery stores, only from specialty bakeries that are nut-free. I put a piece of grocery store pumpkin pie in the girls' lunch every day, because the box does not say made in a facility with exposure to nuts . Now I can't. It's the only thing I can count on Rosie eating every day, and she's still underweight. Fork. Back to square one.

Re: Basically it's Friday!

Cheryl that is redonkulous. A girl in Bella's class is GF and the teacher said it and then said in a "can you believe the crazy things they come up with" voice that there was EVEN a kid with a nut allergy in the building I wanted to know what planet they were on but kept it to myself since we were at orientation. That said, no one will want to bring anything if it costs $80 for cupcakes. I will ship some to the school that say "Jessica's No Nut House" for $50

Re: Basically it's Friday!

Well, at this school there are a lot of people who wouldn't blink at $80 for cupcakes. I am SO glad I had already cleared it with Rosie's teacher to do pizza for her birthday instead of baked goods (since they have so many goodies the last week of school anyway). That's pretty much going to be the plan for us going forth for bdays. But they are forking with my homemade lunch options, LOL. All this because three kids reacted the week after Halloween. Don't let your kids take halloween candy to school already, people, you are killing it for the rest of us.

Re: Basically it's Friday!

On a totally unrelated note, I woke up feeling like poo so DH made breakfast and I told the girls they were buying lunch today. They used to LIVE for letting me buy lunch at the old school. Oh the drama. You think I was making them eat worms. Basically I had to play up the fact they were giving out ice cream with the lunches today to get them to relax. Of course I know they won't touch said ice cream, but whatever.

Re: Basically it's Friday!

So are there certain breads that are approved or do you now have to buy expensive nutfree bread for their sandwiches? Is pasta a baked good? Do you need to enforce a Paleo diet on them, but one that doesn't allow nuts obviously? That is just ridiculous. I am all for making school a safe place, but I think banning nuts is all they can do. They can't make it a burden.
