Re: What do you wish you knew then? CDing a newborn *update post #269*

More variety in my wool. I also wish I knew about this forum and Diaper Pin so I could discover the great brands of NB fitteds that never came up in my google searches.

That it's not hard to get started and prefolds are really pretty easy to use.

Only 4 weeks before my newbie arrives and this was great to trigger ideas and things to prepare for/ponder. I will try to remember to add to it once she's out of the newborn stage.

Re: What do you wish you knew then? CDing a newborn *update post #269*

Reading this thread is great - but makes me wonder if I have what I need for the NB stage.

Here goes...
itty bitty newborn stash:

4 GMD workhorse fitteds (Orange)
1 GMD workhorse fitted (Yellow)
18 infant size prefolds (http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_...roducts_id=277)

Covers:
1 prorap - newborn
2 prowrap - small
2 Thirsties Duo Wrap - size one
2 Bummis Whisper Wrap - small
1 Bummis WW - newborn
1 Snappi

Pockets:
1 FB XS
4 FB Elite OS set to the teeniest setting
6 Alva Aplix Newborns with bamboo inserts

I have yet to buy any wipes - I think my sister is going to serge a ton for me with her cool machine.

I would say I wish I would have learned to tuck the AIOs around the legs, instead of just bringing it straight up threw the crotch area, if that makes sense. I had some really bad fit issues that could have probably been resolved if I would have found that out sooner, plus then their not so wide in the crotch too. Also that prefolds werent scary, they still aren't my go to diaper but they were really easy to use. Also to get a barrier cream right off the bat and stick it on every change. And to not stress so much over leaks or wash routine or repelling or anything, just wash your diapers and calm down, you don't have to be perfect right out of he gate, and you make mistakes with fit sometimes, you aren't a failure, and leaks sometimes happen, it doesn't mean cloth isn't working for you, leaks happen in disposables too. I can't wait to do it again, it's so much fun.
