Re: Baby food maker, blender or food processor?
I have a mini chopper/food processer that the handle of my imersion blender will attach too. It was great for DS2.

Re: Baby food maker, blender or food processor?
I used a Boon food processor. It was manual so you just pulled a cord and it chopped. I loved it. I use it for onions and veggies for myself now. It was expensive (to me) at $22. Pampered chef also sells one.

I wanted to get my sister something for this purpose last Christmas. I researched and searched and researched... I always read bad things about breeza having secret mold in hidden locations. I read that the magic bullet/baby bullet plastic is very brittle. In the end I bought her a cuisinart 7cup ( I use the mini one) and a microwave steamer. If you prefer a blender, that could work too but I find it hard to get everything out of the nooks an cranys on a blender which is annoying to me. Whenever I research different brands... I go to amazon and look at the bad reviews and see what people's port experiences were... Then decide if it is worth it still.
Get a microwave steamer!!!! It Is amazing and very useful. I use it for my son still for frozen veggies(we don't buy canned and rarely fresh since we are bad about eating it sat enough). I just pop it in the microwave for 5 min and serve it up or then put it in yogurt for a mini smoothie for him.

I started feeding my son table foods at 6 months and didn't need 100% smooth for very long at all. Could be your next child will be that way too. I used this:

Re: Baby food maker, blender or food processor?
I already had a blender that I had never used so I bought a few extra ice cube trays and got started. So far I have made stage 1 purées and found it to work great! I just blend the food, poor into the trays, cover with Saran Wrap and freeze overnight. The next day I soak the trays in warm water for just a bit and the cubes pop right out. I put them in freezer bags.

Re: Baby food maker, blender or food processor?
We have a $20 ninja. It works great as long as you are blending enough for 3 feedings but its not best for blending each meal at a time. I often use "wholesome baby food" and "homemade baby food" as resources for making the food. I can't remember the exact website but a quick google will find it.
