Diaper Swappers

I typically have 9lb newborns that gain quickly and have cord stumps that take about 3-4 weeks to heal.

This creates a unique problem with many cloth diapers...especially since I can't afford a stash of newborn simplex

I have some small prefolds that should work okay...maybe a little bulky at first, but that's okay as long as I can find a nice trim cover to put over it.

I've heard others say they like newborn dappi pull on's because they don't bother the cord healing.

I'd LOVE to see pictures of newborns in dappi pull on covers. Pretty please??!!

I am sorry that I don't have pics, but I used snappied prefolds and dappis on my 8yo when she was a nb, and I LOVED them. The are so cheap, thin, and trim. They sit below the cord. I will say, after a while of use, the elastic seemed to start wicking, but I was washing them with my diapers, so that could have caused it. They were still worth every penny for a cheap cover to get through those first weeks. I will get more when we conceive again.

Haha, I was going to share my thread but pp beat me to it, thanks! Yes, I loved the dappi for the newborn stage, especially before the stump fell off. I'm glad I had 4 of them! The My Vety Best covers were great for that as well.

They worked great for us! DD was 7.5 at birth, this was at 4 weeks (so maybe around 9 lb?)

Yes, as long as there is a little meat on the legs they work great. With something absorbant underneath (good prefolds) you should be set.

These are so cute! I have a picture at home of me as a baby with my brother and sister... I'm just in a diaper the a cover that looks just like this! I'll have to scan it and post it.
