I love to poas so you could but just remember to use protection for the next 24-48 hours if you are trying to avoid getting pregnant. Then you should be in the clear.

Every woman needs a woman to talk to! I'm a firm believer in women need women!

Lol well I'm new to poas but it does feel good to know what is goin on for a change. We always use protection, so I'm looking forward to even a few days without needing any! It's insane to wake up and have sticky cm. talk about a quick switch! I hope that means I already ovulated and am done with my fertility this month! Thanks again for your help

It's just as upsetting getting pregnant when trying hard not to as it would be if we were trying to. I feel like its constantly out of my control and is so stressful and scary, which is why I am trying the NFP. I'd love to have a baby on my own terms, not another in college at 19 , or while my other baby is too young, or when I am meant to start college again. It's horrible feeling like I literally can't be I intimate with my husband without getting pregnant
Tottally understand this! I had one BC baby (ended in M/C), too. My 2nd M/C happened while we were ttc DD. We ttc for nearly a year before DD. Because it took so long to get her, I didn't think I could get pg if we didn't use a condom one night when she was 6 m. old. Less than 2 weeks later I had a BFP and we were actively tta then. Since then I've been unsure as to if I'm easy to get that way or not, so we were diligint in tta until nearly 2 m. ago and started NTNP then. No BFP yet. I totally understand somewhat wanting another, but realizing that it's TOTALLY not the right time. We've just gotten to a point now where if it happens I wouldn't be as devastated about it as I was when I got pg with DS. Hope you can tta sucessfully until you are ready again for another LO!

Thanks for your empathy Katie. I couldn't imagine a bfp with a 6 month old. I could hardly accept it with a 15 month old! I hope you get a bfp soon!

I promise this will e my last few questions about ovulating...

This was my test the following morning around 10am after getting a positive OPK at 5pm the night before. [IMG][/IMG]

Does this mean I ovulated and my fertility is over for the month or does that mean Wednesday night it was the surge and prob ovulated that night or the following day? Does the LH when the egg is in the Fallopian tube? Then it's 12-24 hours after that? Can you tell I'm confused on the details?!

Oh and this is all of them: 10am,5pm (12/5)10am(12/6)

I believe (please someone correct me if I'm wrong) that it means you've ovulated during the night and that the next 12-24 hrs is the PRIME fertile window. I think the LH surge happens just before you ovulate. Not sure if that's correct or not. I think I read that somewhere. I'd continue to use protection for the next 1-2 days JUST in case you were to ovulate twice. I read that if (not always by no means) a woman is to ovulate more than once that a lot of time it will happen within 24 hrs after the first ovulation. Not sure if that is true or not, but if you're like me I'd rather be safe than sorry. After that I think it's safe to say you're in the clear for this month. Let me know how the NFP works out for you. I'd REALLY like to try it after we have another LO.

BTW....which basal therm. did you get? I've looked at several and I really can't decide. I've seen good and bad reviews on just about all of them.

Haha! I guess after having two that are only 15 m. apart in age I'd be ok with having another one now. DS just turned 1 last month, but I keep telling myself that it takes 9 m. to get another one here and that he'd be nearly 2 by then. Seems like a piece of cake next to how close the first two were!

Re: Is this a positive OPK?

Oh man. I guess I misunderstood a bit. Hubs and I DTD Friday night without protection. Hopefully I ovulated overnight on Wednesday and the egg was gone before our "cuddle time". If not, I guess I'll be in the August/September birth club...

Hey....I might have it wrong. I've never used OPKs. Hopefully you got it right and you won't have to start frequenting the August/September DDCs. Keep me updated!!!

Re: Is this a positive OPK?

Just found this:

Throughout the menstrual cycle, a small amount of LH is produced, but during the middle of the cycle LH briefly and dramatically increases, and is known as LH surge. Elevated quantities of luteinizing hormone that facilitate ovulation are detected by ovulation tests through anti-LH antibodies contained in the sensitive testing membrane. Ovulation tests thus allow you to accurately predict when you will ovulate. A positive result on an ovulation test means that the woman will most likely become fertile over the next three days – with peak fertility at 36 hours following the LH surge.

This came from http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/ov...test-work.html

Not sure if this is a good thing or not, but thought I'd let you know.

Based on the pics, your surge was at 5 PM....so 36 hrs after that would have been the peak.
