Las Vegas or San Diego
I am turning 24 this year on January 13th. I want to actually GO some where. I am in Tucson Arizona. Both are pretty close by. I am torn. If we go to San Deigo I am going to the Zoo for sure. And the beach OH MAYBE coronado!! Las Vegas Im not sure about. Neither of us are gamblers.I WOULD stay in an UBER nice hotel. We will have a 2 year old with us so we can't exactly go to the shows. But Vegas is on my bucket list! I have been to San Diego but it was about 4 years ago.
Which would you choose and why?

With a child definitely San Diego. The zoo, wild animal park, sea world. Great food. The beach will be too cold to swim. It is more family friendly. i would save Vegas for an adult only trip.

Re: Las Vegas or San Diego
With a child, San Diego. While there are a lot of things to do with children in Vegas, most of it is fairly typical, run-of-the-mill stuff. For that age, anyway.

Re: Las Vegas or San Diego
with a 2 year old in tow definitely San Diego. I have been to both places but San Diego was great with a 2 year old, so much to see and do! Lego land was perfect for that age, the zoo for sure, so many beaches some with seals even! Las Vegas advertised a lot of family activities, but nothing really towards toddlers. It is big and grand but would be better with older or no children.

Will you have someone in Las Vegas (if you go) to be on hand for childcare? If you stay in a hotel with a casino (almost all of the nice hotels are casinos) there will be very few places your child will be able to go. Over half the places on the strip will be off limits for your family. Not a very fun vacation. I'd absolutely choose San Diego (especially if kids were with us).

Depending on where you stay in SD I can supply you with a babysitter! She's amazing.

San Diego.
I live in Vegas. It really is not a place for kids (the strip) and there is not much to do as a family. We dont have a zoo.

Re: Las Vegas or San Diego
If LV is on your bucket list and you can get a sitter, I'd go there. I've personally never been and don't have much desire to visit Vegas but I'd much rather go to a new place and if it was on my bucket list, it would be a priority for me.
That said, with or without kids I LOVE San Diego. So much to do and just a beautiful atmosphere and laid back culture! Love it! |
