3 intact boys here. Only issue is DS2 has a smegma pearl. Pedi wasn't sure about it so we went to a urologist who said no big deal, leave it alone and when the time comes that he naturally retracts it will work it's way out.

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

I have 2 intact boys, 3 years old and almost 6 months. The only issue I have with either is sometimes the tip of their foreskin gets a little red - I think it's from it being pressed up against their diaper, though. I don't think the wetness helps. They tend to have sensitive skin otherwise though, so it's not necessarily related to them being uncirced. No issues though - even when it's red they don't seem to be bothered.

I have two boys 12 and 7, never had any issues. I also have 5 nephews, all intact, mostly teens now who have never had any problems. My bil is intact and must be happy since his two kids are intact. He is English so not the norm there but the kids were born here. My SO's boys are also 7 and 11 and have no problems and are intact.

My 6 year-old son is intact. He has has an issue, maybe 4 times?, where his foreskin would swell and pe nis would be painful. Maybe twice there was pus. We figured it out that since he was constantly pulling at and messing with his
pe nis (you know, cuz it's fun), he must've scratched himself with his dirty little boy fingernails which introduced bacteria and caused an infection. He was on antibiotics a couple of times for this. I think the last time was when he was three. No issues since.
Married fifteen years to a great man; SAHMama to four no longer in diapers but DS is still home to me.

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

I'm not wanting to circ DS2 but DS1 and DH are and DH is freaking out that it will create huge family rift between the boys and psychological problems for DS2. I disagree but would like have some positive stories to share. How have you sons handled the difference, what kind of questions have they asked and how have they responded to your answers? Thanks for the help!

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

We've had issues once. He had a sebaceous cyst form under the foreskin when he was 21 months. We did need to head to the ER, but the urologist that we saw told us it had nothing to do with him being intact. If it was going to form it would have formed. Other than that one issue we've been good to go.
