Re: Soo...whats the LEAST number of dipes you could get away with?

this was the least i had per child & i really dont want to do it again.
are u ready?....
i had a stash of 24 diapers for 3 kids. in diapers. full time. a 3yr old, 2 yr old, and a infant. i was washing diapers 2x's a day. it was a lil crazy then. i did buy more diapers when we had the money and brought it up to 36.
now my once 3yr old (hes now 4) & my 2yr olds r fully day traind. (in diapers at night) i feel like my daughter has a hugh stash with 27 diapers. my 4 & 2yr olds have 3 diapers put to the side for there night time diapers.

I started with 12 fuzzi bunz for a ten month old and washed every day to every 1.5 days. It worked fine, but I prefer to have 3 dozen.

I think I could have plenty for my almost 10 month old with a stash if 18 diapers. We sposie at night because nothing else holds her without out being way to bulky.

if we weren't talking newborns....

I could do 24 small flats and 8 econobum covers. But I might need 10 covers because my small babies poop often!

What do you use that lasts 12-14 hours?!?

Re: Soo...whats the LEAST number of dipes you could get away with?

There was a time I had 24 flats and eight covers for two, washing every other day, so I could get by with half that for my one still in diapers.

We don't really have a choice other than to use disposables at night, they just get too rashy.

I don't really like having only a dozen because then I am constantly washing a tiny load. It is better for me to have a whole load of diapers, and to have a few left to use once the washer's full, so he's not running naked until I can get laundry done.

compared to some people who have 70+ diapers, I'm not really bothered about have 24 for one kid, but I splurge on covers (since I make them) I want him to have every cute one, and then I stuff them all at once, and no hunting pieces down at change time. I think he has about 14 right now.

Re: Soo...whats the LEAST number of dipes you could get away with?

There was a time we had 5 gPants and 10 gerber prefolds, but I will never do that again. If I had to I could get by with three PUL covers again, because we just hand washed them if they got dirty between diaper laundry.

I'm not this person but we use an Alva or bumgenius pocket stuffed with one prefold and either a flour sack flat or microfiber insert and it gets us through 12-14 hours at night. We have used it for about a year with no problems.

For me to realistically use cloth, fulltime and not burn out.. I need at least 45-50 diapers of some sort... Because I like to leave diapers on my diaperbag, still have some left over while I wash and be able to go 3 days between washing when I need to. This is for two in daytime and 4 at night.
