I'm sorry about your car.

We are in a similar situation it's not fun at this time of year.

I am only buying for my kids this year, that's it, even dh isn't getting much.
I am about to pay my bills and hope I can scrounge $50 or so and tomorrow I am hitting the shops and hoping to get enough toys (on sale, discounted??) to cover my kids and that will be it.
I will also go thrift store shopping next week and pick up some books, clothes etc for them.
I love pp's idea of vouchers for massage etc for dh, I might steal that for my dh, sure he'd appreciate it when it came time to pay up lol

eta just paid the bills and have $15 left! dh has a small amt but wow this is going to be the slimmest xmas ever.

Thank you so much for all of the ideas. After I sulked yesterday I decided I need to put on my big girl panties and stop whining (lol) and get busy making some gifts:

I love the marshmallow shooters for the boys and I"m going to make the headband holder and handbands for my DD.

I am going to really challenge myself to use as much of my craft supplies around the house to finish up some gifts and I have a couple trades in the works that I am hoping to wrap up as well (fingers crossed).

Has anyone ever made the rice or corn hot/cold packs? I don't have any essential oils to add to them but was wondering if the corn or rice is better?

I asked to DH to talk to his siblings about the adult gifts. I had some of the younger kids items made/supplies picked up already so I will finish them but I won't be buying any extra for sure to go with them.

Glad you are figuring things out. I have made hot packs with rice. I have never used essential oils and they work just fine.

I've made them with the whole kernel corn from the feed store and used them forever.
