E-bay or CL and other's advice

WAHM here and I was also thinking to get into selling online. I had been reading about e-bay, CL, and others and I also want to join in this opportunity. I must admit I really don't know how things work in this (though I am familiar in Ready-to-wear/grocery/shoe business not in the internet)..so any tips/suggestion regarding the different sites, fees, great ideas and product suggestion will really be appreciated..
