two in diapers ????s

I have had 2 in diapers in the past but I want to not go overboard.

I currently have a love for flats and bg 4.0s--I tend to always go back to BG

I am having a nb in April. I have flats and a handful of covers. And a couple of nb pockets.

ATM I have 6 bg 4.0. For new baby and 16 month old what would you do? Here is what I am thinking

12 freetime BG
12 more flats I have 12 already
6 nb fitteds
6 nb AIOs
I have 4 xs thirsties covers and 4 sm and 1 duo size1
I also have 4 flip covers

with this be enough to pting? It would give me 12 os AIO and 6 OS 4.0s
I also have around 6 fitteds lying around that are a sm/md but will fit my babies until pting.

Re: two in diapers ????s

It's enough for right away with all the newborn options you have, but after the newborn is outgrown, you could add another stack of flats or prefolds and couple of covers OR some more freetimes or 4.0's, but really you are limited by what your washer will hold. With 2 in diapers you will wash a lot more often, so I guess the big question is - do you want a slightly bigger stash that won't get as much wear, or are you content to wear it all, wash it all, wear it all, wash it all? That's what I would say.....

I have 2 in diapers and pared my stash back twice because the washer only holds what it holds. I have enough for me to wash and dry twice without folding before I have to start raiding the baskets.

We have:

11 covers (shared)
12 GMD browns (older only)
23 Flip Organic inserts (shared)
12 BGE's (younger only)
5 flour sack flats (younger only)
6 4.0's (shared, though not in use)
(and as soon as Grovia releases their bamboo prefolds, I'm picking up 6 of those for the younger)

Personally, I would get more NB. 12 is the minimum I would have on hand for one day and you'd be doing laundry everyday just to keep up in the beginning. I think once the flats are fitting nicely you'd have enough.

Re: two in diapers ????s

I have twins and right now we have 28 pockets, 12 prefolds/6 covers, and 4 sbish snapless for nights. I usually wash ever day sometimes a day and a half, would like to go 2 full days but my boys go through a lot of diapers they are pooping machines. After the holidays I would like to purchase another dozen prefolds and maybe 2 more fitteds to use at night. The wash schedule right now has it so both night diapers are in the wash when I need them so would like to have a few more just to be safe.

When I had DD2 we had 2 in cloth and they had separate stashes, NB & what we had been using for DD1. Then we consolidated and ended up with 30 OS diapers which was good.

Re: two in diapers ????s

I forgot to mention that I do have prefolds also

I was thinking this instead

Have NB
12 prefolds
12 flats
5 covers--thirsties xs and duo
4 small covers
2 pockets

I was thinking of buying 6 fitteds

Then I was thinking just buying 24 freetimes so I would have 24 freetimes and 6 4.0s for both until dd1 pts

I would still have the flats, prefolds, and I also have 4 organic flip inserts and 4 flip covers for back ups and some fiteds.

would this work?

Re: two in diapers ????s

I have a 2yr old and a 3 week old. I have about 40+ pockets (BG's and Alvas) OS for my 2 yr old and then about 20 Alva NB and 5 BG XS for my 3 week. I have more BG's (S and M) and alva pockets put away for when she grows out of the NB.

Those are our regular diapers. I was every 2-3 days

I tried the OS on my baby and they are just far to big on her just yet, I prefer to use the smaller size diapers.
