but I made my own Capri inserts and they turned out awesome. I used them yesterday and they worked fine, washed them today and they remained intact.

They're really basic, not complicated, not even my own idea, but still I am very pleased with myself. Plus I hate folding flats and I have a ton of them.

I just folded a flat in half, then in thirds, (mariamommy-style) and sewed two long lines down the length of the flat. Then I sewed on a fleece liner on one half of one side. Voila, it's like a Capri insert.

I only made 5 with small DR flats for testing, but I think I'll make more.

I have half my flats like that and half stitched like a prefold that I then tri-fold because like you I didn't like folding them all the time.
I just started using my flats that are stitched like a pf folded just twice as covers more than trifolded and I get more length. (They are not quite perfect squares) This is soooo trim it's crazy! I was like wow your fluffy butt is gone!

I must be a diaper geek too, I do the same thing, its not a difficult job but it does take sometime, and it works great.
