Super Yard here too. We have the extension kit for it because we had two sets of twins and needed it bigger. We put it in many shapes depending on what we need at the time. But, it does have to be connected to be sturdy. That isn't a problem for us because we bought it with that intent.

We have used ours many places including the beach, camping and 4th of July. In fact, at the beach and 4th of July, we set up the whole family inside it. We have a lot of littles (6 kids 7 and under including 2 sets of twin). To keep them corralled, we set up the play yard and all sat inside to watch the fireworks or play on the beach. Worked great!!

We have the super yard + extention kit plus another super yard set. We could make one HUGE super yard! We used ours so much! We twins it was an absolute necessity. We used it in our living room (as their safe area until they were close to 2! Then we decided we didn't need it anymore and hooked up a little small square to the wall as our time out. Now at 2.5 we don't use it at all except to protect our Christmas tree. I'm actually hoping we can sell it after this year, but we'll wait until next Christmas to make sure we don't need it.

super yard here too...I didn't buy it until the kids were a little older, but they did stay in it occasionally. Right now we use it to put the livestock show bunnies in to give them some expercise outside in th yard.
