My ds2 eats his pb&j in such a weird way that I have to do pb first with one knife on both pieces, then use another knife to add jelly. I have to add the jelly while scraping the pb off at the same time, back and forth, so that they mix together. I do not put the bread together like a sandwich. He will pull it apart and eat them separately. If I put the pb on first, then the jelly on top, he will simply lick all of the jelly off and declare that he is finished with his meal
Lucky for me, my ds1 only eats pb, and won't touch jelly! His gets made first, then the PITB one second. I do not like pb, so I have never made one for myself.

Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
I voted "other."
I do peanut butter first with the knife. Then I use a SPOON to get out the jelly and plop it on the bread, then I use the knife to spread it. God bless!

I only eat PB&J open-faced on toast. But I use squeeze-able jam, so I put PB on first, then jam. Only 1 knife needed.
If I am making sandwiches for the boys, I layer all 4 pieces of bread with a thin layer of PB first, then squirt the jam on one piece each and spread it around. That way it isn't soggy before lunch time, and I didn't contaminate the PB. (Cutting is, of course, done after all sandwiches have been made)

Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
PB first, both slices of bread. One knife.
Jelly with a spoon, spread with the back of the spoon. |

Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
I usually mix peanut butter and jelly in a bowl first and then put it on. Weird, I know

Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
One knife, jelly first, jelly wiped on peanut butter side, then peanut butter.
DH does one knife, pb on both sides, then jelly with a spoon.

Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
I know. Pregnancy cravings! I had just had one. That's why I thought of it!

Jelly first, 1 knife. The jelly is easier to wipe (or lick...) off before it goes into the peanut butter.
