Cloth Nursing Pads

How many of these do I really need? Any brand or material recommendations? Are they the same quality and/or absorbancy of disposables?

There is no way to plan how many you need until you start leaking then see how much you leak. Some people leak a lot and others not so much. I make some nursing pads if you need any. I would say to start off with 6 pairs that way you have enough to last a day so you can do laundry. I started out with 12 and never seem to use them all. I love flannel because it is so soft against my hurting nipples lol

I change my pads 4+times a day, am at 4m pp, and use bamboobies (and imitation bamboobies that I've made myself with hemp jersey. I leak a lot so keep at least 30 pairs as I don't always find my clean pads in the unfolded clean laundry

I started out with 6 pairs, which were great the first week I started leaking. But a few days after that, I had to change them every hour, more often at night times too. The cotton ones I have are ok, but they soak up and get saturated fairly quickly. I like the hemp/bamboo pads better. They soak up a lot, but feel dryer so I don't have wet/cold boobies.

I got the free UdderCovers ones. I imagine they're not the best ones out there, but the reviews I read made them sound pretty good for an "average" leaker. 5 pair free, you pay shipping ($11 I think?) I've heard babies r us has good wool ones if you need them. Another mom suggested stuffing your bra with prefold diapers at night if need be

I love, love, love Willow Pads hemp fleece nursing pads! They trump over every disposable and re-useable pad I have ever used. I had/have over active letdown and over supply and leaked a lot all the time for the first few months. They also didn't make me look like I stuffed my bra. I've also had people suggest the Milk Savers if I was interested in saving the milk. I did not try them though.

I loved the mother-ease pads, the stay-dry ones. They were nice and big so didn't leave a tell-tale outline. But I wasn't a heavy leaker. I went through one set a day.

I use these. I have 16 pairs which is perfect to keep a couple pairs in the diaper bag and have 12 pairs at home. I only change them twice a day on average. They are soft and pretty absorbent.

I have10 pairs from gingerbred cloth on hyena cart. They have a PUL layer so u don't have a soaked bra/shirt with a strong let down. Love them!
