I would probably go with #2 just because she has a backup. Have you spoken to your care providers about what would happen if your DH was not able to make it to the birth?

Personally, I would go with #2. I would NOT hire a doula who doesn't have a back-up on hand.

What is your intuition telling you? I'm sensing you are leaning more to #2. Did you meet her?

Yes and she was really sweet and warm. DH and I are still talking about it but I know her is leaning toward #2. He is worried about me being alone and wants to prevent that at all cost.

Have you see heard of Operation Special Delivery? It's a program that offers free doulas to military spouses who's husband is deployed during the birth. Might be worth looking into?

Yes. BUT the guidelines are REALLY strict. Its very hard to qualify. We would not. DH will possibly be in training. That he can't leave or communicate from. Plus we won't know when he's leaving but wer won't qualify.

Yeah. I just posted that above . She was super sweet and very nice. DH is leaning toward her because he feels better knowing that someone will be with me if he's away at OCS.

I think the peace of mind for both of you will be the best situation all around!
