How to cover elastic on a seam?

I have a cute long sleeve nursing shirt that I can't wear because there is exposed elastic all along the arm seams and it itches a lot. Is there a way to cover this to make it more comfortable to wear?

Re: How to cover elastic on a seam?

I have a latex allergy. Elastic gives me a rash and makes me itch. Don't cover it! Replace the elastic with lastin. It is latex free. Even if the elastic is covered, you will continue to be exposed to the latex and eventually you will not be able to even have covered elastic.

If it is not an allergy and just rough, I would just cover it with a cotton knit (ie t-shirt material) as the edges don't need to be seamed and it won't unravel. It is also thin, stretches and soft.

Thankfully it is not an allergy issue, so it just needs to be covered, would you just sew it on there, use fabric glue? I'm pretty clueless here

Re: How to cover elastic on a seam?

I would just sew a wider satin ribbon over it to cover the elastic (basically encase it).
