Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

My son was most definitely a boy in his ultrasounds. No if, ands, or buts about it. He put it all on display for everyone to see. I don't remember how far along I was.

I wouldn't put any stock in the Chinese calendar, old wives tales, symptoms, or the way you carry baby. None of that means anything. They have a fifty fifty chance of being right. How high you carry has more to do with your size, baby's size, and your muscle tone and strength than weather you are having a boy versus a girl. Symptoms can vary with each pregnancy. Even if all are the same gender each pregnancy can still be different. As far as old wives tales I was told I would wrap my child's cord around her neck if I raised my hands above my head. I have also heard that a knife under the mattress can cut the pain. So I don't take much stock in that. For the Chinese calendar if that was really accurate no Chinese woman would want a gender ultrasound done. She wouldn't need it.

Mine were both right, one boy, one girl. I had strong intuition both times about the sex, and was totally wrong both times, lol.

I'd imagine it's easier to be confident about telling you it's a boy vs. telling you it's a girl.

At 16 weeks they told me girl but at the end she said she wasn't very sure. I felt the same way, all the old wives tales and everything told me boy and I just FELT it was a boy. At 20 weeks there was definitely a penis and obviously that one was correct.

I dont agree. alot of these are right on for many moms. especially the way they carry, how much sickness, if they grown more hair in pegnancy/nails better... if you pay attention to each baby w that mom, you can get a good guess that is right more times than not. and its fun to guess!!

Found out triplets at 16 weeks and was correct (BBG)
Found out at 20 weeks ds was a boy but I honestly knew at 9 weeks at a 3D ultrasound. He looked exactly like his brother.

I was told I could go to my RE at 16 weeks with this bean to find out gender.

Oh and I was a baby that broke the wise tales. Everyone thought I was going to be a boy and I am definitely not! Mom didn't have an US with me.

Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

Maybe it's just all in my head. These are all my reasons:
I have had two boys and I carried VERY low the whole time, this baby is very high.
I have excruciating heartburn all the time. (Never had heartburn with the boys)
My hair has gotten really weird, like coarse
With the boys I got REALLY HAIRY, like on my belly etc, this time I am not.
I have no linea negra, I got it DARK both times before.
This baby rarely kicks, with the boys it looked like they were doing gymnastics all day long.
I got a horrible itchy rash on my face for almost 20 weeks with only this baby.
I had HORRIBLE morning sickness with this baby, like debilitating.

I don't have a crotch shot from the tech, she didn't let me see the screen because I was bleeding and they were checking for problems.
