Re: Movie Recommendations for daughters first

I second Mary Poppins. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is another favorite of ours as is Bedknobs and Broomsticks but there is "witchcraft" in that one. Melody Time is another to check out. It has several stories in it and you could just show the one(s) that you like best.

Re: Movie Recommendations for daughters first
If I were going to show one movie to my five year old it would be Mary Poppins. Still one of our favourites around here.

Re: Movie Recommendations for daughters first
My girls love Tinkerbelle and Tangled - both are pretty benign as far as disney movies go. Older movies would be good but remember drinking and smoking were more accepted if you go back far enough so if you don't want to see that be careful. My girls enjoyed Mary Poppins but both found Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to be too long of a movie. My girls really enjoy the Hello Kitty movies - most we've seen are a retelling of a fairy tale. Strawberry Shortcake are cute movies as well - I like the ones where she wears blue jeans the best. The newest ones some of the girls act too teenagerish for my liking

Re: Movie Recommendations for daughters first
I am not too picky about movies, but these are banned here. They are mean to each other! Definitely not a fan.
I thought of a couple more my kiddos like--Willy Wonka (the older one, not the Johnny Depp one), and the Barbie Princess and the Pauper (which is surprisingly really cute and well done, which I never would have expected. The rest of the Barbie movies are pretty terrible).

Re: Movie Recommendations for daughters first
I always liked the movies where dogs and cats talked, homeward bound, etc. they are not animated at all and are great for all ages!

As for Charlie Brown, despite some very sentimental attachment to the Christmas one, they are pretty flat. I love Peanuts, but the movies... I also agree that they can be mean to one another.
