Your body temp drops during surgery. I was shivering from cold for almost an hour after my last c/s.

I had one arm strapped down I believe I don't remember for sure to be honest.

My wrists were both strapped down. The anesthesiologist didn't want me "helping" with baby's delivery. I don't think he would've had to worry at all. :-)

Not only does your body temp drop from surgery but the or is kept cool for the doctors comfort. With all the stuff they have on they are sweating.

don't know if anyone knows, but WHY would a doctor tie a woman's arms down? Especially if not all doctors do it?

Because its somewhat common for women to panic and try to mess with stuff.

This is what I would think to.

Being cut open, while awake, I would imagine, can be pretty scary.

I think I would be one of the women who would panic. But being tied down would make me even more crazed and I would probably have to be put under.

It's a common practice in most surgeries. In case the anesthesia fails, you can't move.

im pretty sure i was strapped down. i know the arm with the iv was for sure. it didnt worry me, i was worried about the baby, mine was an emergency (directly tied to my epi im pretty sure, but thats another story ). the worst part for me was when they were stitching me up... the clock on the wall was directly in my line of sight... i remember thinking how crazy it was that they got ds out so fast, and yet it took sooooo long to close me back up
