Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

I'm definitely in. I'm hoping to sell at least most of dd's old clothes. I'm starting to put a lot of it on ebay now. I'll probably go over the 2000 mark if I do it. Last year I sorted through the craft room this year I need to focus on getting rid of the old clothes. And this year I want to minimize the amount coming into the house and focus more on quality items. Less spending for me please.

Honestly, minimalist views and purging have really helped me stop spending in general. I find I just don't want stuff anymore. It is actually nice and refreshing. The more that leaves the less I find I need. There are very few things I see myself "needing" in the next year...and I find myself reusing rather than buying (for storage for example).

We have purged a lot this past year, but I am up for 2013 in 2013!

Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

Im so in mama's and i am beyond excited I am feeling quite suffocated by stuff and honestly don't even have that much... I would really like to be able to have days where its not just hours of cleaning/maintaining stuff that doesn't really matter!!

Looking so forward to this

I would love to stop in general but I have a new baby boy so I know I'll need more clothes for him at some point. for christmas we got lots of size 12 months for some reason. And I have nothing in 6/9. I am going to try to buy less clothes.

I hope to buy some clothes for me if I lose this weight. I Would really in general like to spend less money overall.

Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

I am in too
DH and I spent yesterday going through our file cabinet and the kids loved helping shred.
I wont put paperwork in my count, but it felt great! I am just glad our neighbors are gone this week so we could fill up their recycling bin because ours was full!
I have a trunk full of stuff to donate today, and then will start fresh for 2013!!

Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

Just boxed up 232 items that are ready to leave our house.

I was going to wait until it was technically 2013, but the baby finally went down for a nap so I took advantage of the opportunity.

I'm going to start in my kitchen at nap time today. I went in there to cook breakfast and couldn't even move! Arrgghh!

Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

I would like to join. I don't know that I am a true minimalist per se, but I am happier with less "stuff."

And with baby #5 on the way in the next 8 weeks, I need the extra space

Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

I started today too... I had the chance, so I took it. I bagged up 2 garbage bags of clothes my sons have outgrown/ruined, plus my maternity clothes (no more babies here!). I'll count the items at next opportunity.
