I don't think you O'd either. However, I think the amount of days you had spotting should be considered a new cycle.
The cycle before I got pregnant with DS I was supposed to start Provera to induce my period, but while we were at Disneyland, I started barely spotting. It happened for 4 days. I asked my doc if he still wanted me to take the provera and he said since it was consistent for 4 days, then I should call it a new cycle.
I got pregnant that month.

It is very common to have 1-3 off cycles per year. I bet this was just a wacky cycle. I would count the bleeding as a new cycle and prepare to ovulate this cycle.
