Just bought this off craigslist.

Trying to identify her birthdate and then give her a bath. I am going to try holistic home care (aka repair/tune-up myself).

Anyone else bring an old machine back to life? and then do self maintenance? This is my project for the new year.

So pretty! Is it a treadle or electric?

Hubby just bought me a treadle from 1904 for Christmas. I didn't have to put anything into it other than a new belt and a good oiling. It was fully functioning and included all of its original feet and paperwork!!

Sooooo... she was born June 2, 1910. She is a Singer 66-1 with the "Red-Eye" decal pattern. She is electric with knee pedal. I need to get her a new belt, the wiring actually looks good, so once the belt is on, I will give her a run!!!!!!!!!

Nice!!!!! I've come across entire blogs/sites dedicated to restoring vintage Singers. I've got my grandmother's Slantomatic from the late 50's and I thought that was cool LOL! This is a gem. Can't wait to hear how it sews.
