DD1 nursed to 23 months and self weaned during my pregnancy with DD2.

DD2 is almost 10 months and we will go until she self weans.

Re: Just curious..

I nursed my first for 15 months. Planned on 2 years but I was pregnant and it hurt. I'm nursing my 12 month old now and will go until 2.

I pumped for DS1 for 6 months. Pumped for DS2 for 16 months (he got frozen milk for 21 months, though). DS3 is 17 months old and still nursing. DS4 is almost 8 weeks old, and also nurses. So a total of 39 months so far.

I nursed my son until he was 30 months, when my milk dried up at 13weeks pregnant. Then I nursed my dd until 15 months.

So I was either pregnant or nursing for five straight years. Lol!

Re: Just curious..

oldest was I think 3 or four months at best, but second I was kind of forced to stop as I got pregnant and my supply decreased drastically right away when she was 14 months otherwise I think maybe would have gone longer. Hoping next will be a chap nurser too.

I know a gal that has breastfed (not exclusively towards the end) til age 3 or so. One that has nursed twins, an older one and a younger (4 kids total) I think for like 13 yrs total I think she said.

Baby is 4.5 months old. My goal would be 2 years but I'd be more than happy if I made it til 18 months and give her EBM in a cup.

DS1- Nursed for 6 weeks
DD1- Nursed for 12 weeks
DS2- Nursed for 15 months
DD-2 is the current nurser.

Re: Just curious..

My oldest only nursed for 3 weeks due to a combination of lack of support and hideous horrible pain.

My current nursling is 8 months now and nursed exclusively (with the exception of a couple of bottles early - rocky start) until 5 months when we started some limited solids. She still eats mostly at the boob. I have to go back to work when she's about 10.5 months old, so I don't know what will happen. If our nursing relationship survives me heading back to work, great, if not, oh well. I'm hoping to get to a year on breastmilk and I'd be ok with her nursing a bit beyond, but I don't see us going much into toddlerhood nursing.
