Smile Romantic Picnic Ideas??

Tomorrow is our (DH and myself) 3rd Anniversary. We are planning a day trip on Saturday (no baby!!). We are going on a boat ride in the 1000 islands that will drop us off at a castle, where we will sppend a good part if the day, including lunch time. I am planning on packing a picnic for us. I would love some good picnic food ideas that would be pretty easy to make and pack in a picnic backback. I want to make something kind of special, but not too spendy. Anyone have any suggestions????

Re: Romantic Picnic Ideas??

Thanks for the links! They are great- although I did laugh at the fast food picnic one! My DH would die if I pulled out a table cloth and full set of dishes and flatware at the local McDonalds!!! Oh- and we're going Saturday, so perfect timing! Thanks!!!

Re: Romantic Picnic Ideas??

In the middle of this difficult pg, last week my DH & I had a KFC picnic & watched the fireworks at a park in town. It was honestly one of the best dates we've ever had! I packed chex mix, store-bought coleslaw, maccaroni & potato salads that we already had in the fridge, cheese & crackers, and some drinks. He picked up a bucket of chicken, and KFC desert bucket thingies.

RIGHT behind our vehicle we set up a card table (which actually is the floor of the cargo area of our CRV!) & chairs so I didn't have to get my preggo butt up & down to/from the ground, and a checked table cloth. SO many people stopped by to tell us how fun & smart it looked. We also packed a small game..yahtzee was our choice...

It was a GREAT time! I say, go for it! Even fast food picnics aer romantic & fun! And the lack of extra prep work just might be the key to making it even more enjoyable!

Have fun!

My vote would be to go rustic. A french Baguette, some brie, grapes, pears and a big bottle of wine. Finish it off with a bar of dark chocolate.
