Re: Finding a doctor problems
there are no midwives available???? I would look on mothering, yahoo groups for natural birth groups and if that fails like another said ask around for natural minded ob's.

Re: Finding a doctor problems
Midwives were just made legal in May of 2010 and there ar only two in our whole state. I am in Wyoming our population is very small so I guess no one wants to start a midwife clinic here. I have searched all over the internet with no luck. As for the natural minded I do believe the doctor I have choosen is that way but truthfully I have babies so fast natural is about all I can do.

Re: Finding a doctor problems
How far do the two midwives travel? The midwife I am going to use travels almost our entire state, so it may be worth asking. You could at least call them and ask if they have suggestions for good OBs. Midwives are usually good about knowing who to avoid.

Re: Finding a doctor problems
The one I emailed is three hours away and she said no, and the other one is actually in Montana an will only do the town on the Montana, Wyoming boarder. I am located in the middle of the state four hours below that. I did try thought.

Re: Finding a doctor problems
I understand the troubles. I live in a secluded area and at my practice they make us rotate through all the doctors and we get whoever happens to be on call. It absolutely sucks! I'm keeping my hopes up that a friend of mine will be a fully certified midwife by Aug but I'm not very hopeful. I could always just have an accidental home birth
