Help! About to give up

I have 2 year old twins and an 8 week old baby. I am cloth diapering the baby but did not cd the twins. I like the pockets but have been having leaks almost every time with flips and inserts/prefolds. I don't own enough pockets to use one every time an am hesitant to invest in more because finances are tight and I am not sure i want to or can keep up with the laundry and stuffing for pockets no like to be successful with this. Any helpful thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Flip covers maybe too big for the baby still. Did u check for any gaps around baby's legs? ( Gaps = leaks) Are you jelly rolling around the legs area? Are u using snappi on your prefolds? ( coz it helps secure it tight around baby's legs to decrease leak) did u prep the prefolds? ( we boiled ours before using or u can wash in hot water + dry on dryer 5 times. ( help to get the prefolds to absorb) mine leaked with infant prefolds coz my baby is a heavy wetter so we are using larger prefold and newspaper fold it to hold more pee! GL and don't give up!!

Sounds life a fit issue. Check out the fsot section for didn't brand covers. Thirsties are great covers and I liked bumpkins during the nb stage.

My econobum seem to fit better but I also haven't tried jellyrolling so I will try that and maybe I will get 2 diaper changes out of a cover that way

Re: Help! About to give up

hi mama, i used large flats in a kitefold and jelly roll, it worked well to catch all pee and most poo (super runny esp if EBF). at the beginning every other cover got a little soiled which i then just rinsed and air-dried for another use. now at 7 mos, maybe 1-2 covers are soiled a day, and i use 3-4 covers per day. for us, flats/prefold with covers were more economical b/c you can reuse cover. pockets are more convenient tho when we go out. if you can get flour sack towels from kitchen aisle at walmart, try those with your 2 mo baby until she can fit her pockets. snappi'd prefolds also work great to catch leaks, esp when all baby can do is lay flat, more leaks will occur b/c of gravity lol. cding has a learning curve, you can do it! my 20 mo ds wears padfolded flats in a cover, easy peasy and cheap, maybe your older twins can try that one day. best to you mama.
