stain removing
What are your diaper stain routines other than sunning? It is really cold and the place I sun only gets sunlight for maybe four hours in the morning and my diapers aren't fully drying and stains aren't coming out even with lemon juice. I hate having to wash the pooped in diapers two or three times before the stains are totally gone.

Re: stain removing
Some might say bleach. I would try whip it. I like it for dirt, sagetti on floors. Maybe try oxiclean in boiling water....

Re: stain removing
I don't have any suggestions, but I'm wondering how people get stains out of covers - we have pretty good luck sunning out stains on diapers, but when one of those really bad poops gets stuck into the PUL I just don't know what to do!

Re: stain removing
Stains are best removed at the temperature at which they were set, so use warm to hot water on diapers that are stained. Sun Ixycleaner is approved for cloth diaper use. I dissolve three to four scoops (it's a smaller scooper than Oxiclean) in a laundry sink of water and add a splash of detergent and agitate slightly and then soak stained diapers overnight. It works really well for me.
I also rinse anything that might stain immediately and run it through a quick wash cycle.

Re: stain removing
i hand rinse EBF poo off covers immediately, but my pockets and prefolds have little areas of EBF stains - i don't mind, they seem to wash lighter with every load. my ds toddler poo has mostly stopped staining diapers at around 1 yo.
i'd like to try oxyclean some day, just using sunning and regular wash cycle to clean dipes right now. |
