I'm selling something for the first time, and got a pm from someone. When I went to respond, it says I need to have 6 posts to be able to send a PM...? WTF?

You need to be an active member on the boards to pm.

Posts in FSOT and Intros don't count toward your total post count. Go post in some of the threads in sub forums and you should be good to go.

that has been the rule since I joined 6+ years ago. Post in the main parts of the board (NOT FSOT) to get your post count up

Yes, you need a minimum of 6 posts to pm someone. The rule is put in place for spammers. It's really not hard to participate on the boards, you can have six in just minutes.

Thank you! I had the same question - now it's easy to get 6 when I realized that the FSOT doesn't count!!!
