With our 2 year old! Anyone else have to share a room w their little one? How do you get them to go to bed before you do? How do you have any privacy? Advice and pictures of bedroom setup needed!

Re: Moving and have to share a bedroom

We have a relatively small house, and much of it is used storage space, so the 3 (now 4) of us sleep in the master bedroom and keep a make-shift futon that we can fold up and set up easily in the living room if we need "privacy".

You can see in this pix that we are messy =) and DD napping in one corner of one of the beds. We just put 2 beds together, and that's basically the master bedroom.

I share a room with my 5 year old.

I dont have privacy but dont seek it either.

Liam will sleep without me so i put him to bed and do whatever after....I just dont make it an option.

His bed is on one end of the room and mines on the other end by the door. He has a kura loft which helps with space.

He has toy shelves and a bookshelf along with some bins on his side. On mine is a homemade matress, a small lamp and some books in baskets.

Our clothes are in baskets i need to buy something to Store them in

We are very confortable and i dont feel the space is to small.

Re: Moving and have to share a bedroom

All of our little's sleep in our room until they are about 3yo. We use white noise machines in all of our bedrooms which is nice in case we need to get something out of there or when we come to bed. Poppy slept in our bed until she was maybe 23mo but our bed is very tall and she is a crazy sleeper so we got her her own bed a few months ago. I am due in a few weeks so then we will have 2 in our room for the 3rd time since we began parenting.

Re: Moving and have to share a bedroom

We have a toddler bed in our room which our kids transitioned to before they moved into their own bedroom. No big deal, they sleep through our "private times" no problem - even my lighter sleeper.

Re: Moving and have to share a bedroom

DS is only 12 months but still sleeps with us. We are living with the in laws right now so it could continue for quite a while. We have two double beds thatare next to each other on the ground that the three of us sleep in. I jsut put DS to bed at his bed time and come in and go to sleep next to him him whenever I'm ready. He still wakes up a few times before I go to bed but I jsut go in and get him back to sleep. He still cries as soon as he wakes up so I have yet to deal with him waking up and getting into trouble.

We live in a two-bedroom apartment, so we share a room with our 19-month-old. And the 3-yr-old joins us in bed every night at some point. Private time is conducted elsewhere in the house

Our house has extra bedrooms but we (4 yo girl, 18 mo boy) are all in the same room and we love it. Our daughter is in her twin on one end and the three of us bedshare on the other, although we have a daybed about sidecarred because we're about to start kicking sonny boy out. I love the closeness of us all being in the same space and our daughter goes to bed hours before we do, no problem.

Sex just happens elsewhere.
