The other mamas have addressed the DC but I wanted to add that the call ahead/scheduled pick up if for Priority only anyway. But, I just set packages by my mail box and never had my mail guy not take it.

Or return merchandise. I usually pick my cheapest package to go priority and have him grab my packages. We can not set packages at our box.

I don't know what the deal is where I live, but one time I was *standing* by the mailbox waiting for him with a package with the appropriate postage, and he told me he could not take it. So I'm guessing the fact that it fits into the mailbox is a bare minimum requirement here....

No, not at that time, although the postage was more than covered.

Anything over 13 oz must be taken to the post office if you used stamps.
