short feeds @ 4 months

My 4 month old is getting over sickness and has been feeding for around 5 mins, is his belly full of mucous? Will he go back to long feeds once hes better?

It could be that he is just more efficient now. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

My baby did that too at 4 months old. He did 5-7 min feeds more often. Now he is back to longer feeds less often and 9 months.

My baby rarely ate for more than 5-8 minutes, one side per feeding.

My lady has only eaten more than 5 minutes two times in her almost 6 month life... Maybe he is just getting more efficient like pp said?

Not sure, hes now eating way more often too though! But its only been the last week-week and half since hes been sick. Hoping after he feels better he'll get back to eating normally! Im not loving waking up every two hours to feed!

There is a huge growth spurt at 4 months too. I would expect this to last a while due to this. He may wake more now at night after it too. Mine always did.

LOL! can u nurse while sleeping? I highly reccomend it! My first nursed for 30 min at a time and I thought that was exhausting! My 15 mo old nursed quickly like yours and that is DEFINITELY more exhausting! lol! But yes, it's normal at 4 mos. infact, at 15 mos ds nurses longer than he ever did before a year! (but less frequently).
