Re: January Stash Game Chatter thread

Those are so cute! I love that I had a DD! DS is no fun to sew for! I just need to remind myself I have plenty of cute fabrics that are just sitting on my shelf waiting to be made into something for DD.

amen! While I have a pretty good stash, DH's sister blessed me so much in December... She cleaned out her sewing room to make into a studyroom (she is going back to school) and she gave me ALL her fabric!!! I washed 5-6 loads of fabric that week (to get smoke smell out of them). I was completely blown away. I need to make her a couple tote bags for books as a thank you (that fleece blanket is for her too). Now I have some really cute Valentine themed fabric to make a dress for Baby Girl. As I was folding all the fabric, my to-do wish list got a lot bigger! haha.

I made a skirt today, and a skirt yesterday and both are incredibly cute! Simple, but adorable I just want to make more of them...haha Not sure what else to make that is also practical. I have made three bags, one with lots of pockets! And two grocery bag holders...not sure what else there is to make for someone who has been sewing approximately 2-3 weeks.

How difficult are simple pants like this? Getting some material through a trade that I am hoping to try to make jammie pants out of for one or two of the boys...ARE these even simple?

MMM, yes and no. They are actually simpler because it is cut from sleeve and part of the sewing is done. With a decent pattern it is really only 3 seams and threading an elastic...that said nearly ALL newbies sew the wrong seam first and end up very frustrated. Wish you could just come over and I would show you

Basic curtains are just 4 straight lines, cloth wipes are too. A simple block quilt with 6" blocks is as well. You could do a simple baby or dolly blanket with just 6 squares and a fabric for the back. Hope those ideas help.

I have made the upcycled pants from sweaters. I plan to do a bunch more soon as I have a bunch of wool sweaters just waiting to made into wool pjs and pants! I found them very easy. You can also use an old adult sweatshirt for toddler sweatpants. Or a long sleeve t-shirt for knit pants.

Or use old dress shirts that don't fit your DH for toddler pants!

(use the rest of the shirt to make a dress like ... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170402.0 )

Oh, I adore those golden book prints and had completely forgot about them!! I had them on a must buy list this summer when I came across them and lost the list. I went to go find some and only found it on ebay . Any ideas were I could find it somewhere else? My mom always sends me fabric for my birthday so I'm making a list .
