i found a can of campbells new england clam chowder expiration date of september 2012. the can is still in good shape, no dents or dings and it's not puffed out anywhere.
would you heat this up and eat it or toss it? i'm not sure how long canned foods are good for.

I'd eat it, too. I know that lots of expiration dates are earlier than when the product would actually expire. Since it is something that's totally sealed and everything (not just sitting open in your fridge or whatever), I think it would be fine.
