I've done a vodka penne pasta with shrimp or chicken. It's a rachel ray recipe. I also frequently do a baked or beer can chicken with roasted veggies and homemade bread.

Cheese souffle is an impressive starter, fancy and cheap! Try to avoid having meat as the centerpiece entree- vegetables, rice or pasta will all go farther.

Bananas foster is a great showstopper end to a meal.
