I *love* Christmas time because a lot of family just give us gift cards. We got almost $600 and my boys each got $35. Ours were to Target, Amazon, Toys R Us, and Bath and Body Works. I paired the Bath and Body Works gift card with a $10 off coupon and their after Christmas sale. I scored big time!

How are gift cards a scam on eBay? I'm curious because I have bought quite a few from eBay. I've never sold them there before.

Buyers can get the gift card, use it, then file with pp that there is nothing on the card. And many times they will win and seller is out of luck with no card and now no money.

There's many honest buyers but lots of dishonest ones too.

If you do sell a gift card it would be smart to write the numbers down so if it came down to it they can possibly look up and see that the purchases were made AFTER the buyer received it. Make sure to send with DC not just in an envelope so you can prove when they got it. So if charges were made after they got it then you have proof

I was wondering how legit ebay would be. And the fees made me leary too. Seems like ebay and craigslist would net about $80 out of the hundred. A buy back place online lists they would trade me for a $92 amazon card, so im tempted. Ive just never done business with one of those and wondered how safe they are.

Oh, Gosh! Good to know. I sold an xbox 360 live membership I won last year that went well, but now that I know about the scams I will be sure to be cautious. It makes the gift card trading sites more appealing, for sure.
