Dark brown spotting and tinged discharge *update in post 33

Well my Dr office told me to go to emerg but I really just think I will skip it. Our emergency is horrible and I will end up sitting there for 5-6 hours before I am even seen.

I was very active this week, snapping diapers, walking 4.5km every day and then DTD around day 2. Like someone said, if it's a miscarriage they can't do anything anyways.

If it is a miscarriage wouldn't it be getting heavier and turning red with cramping by now?

I honestly don't think there is anything they CAN actually do to stop it if it is a m/c. Then again, I am no expert. Maybe someone else can chime in if I am incorrect about that.

As far as if it would be getting worse, that just depends on your body. Some women find out their babies have died, but it takes weeks for the actual m/c to start. Not everyone miscarries immediately. And not every bleed means a miscarriage.

If you are having the beginnings of a miscarriage, you would do well to understand what they will want to do IF you go to the hospital to get treatment. They will likely want to do a D & C procedure on you.

I think you should consider how you would like this to be treated if it IS a miscarriage. If you would prefer to let nature take its course, than there really is no reason to go be seen.

Again, I would personally tell you not to worry. While m/c DO happen, you are more likely NOT to suffer a m/c than you are to have one - esp if you are healthy, young, and have no history of abnormalities. In the event that you are having the first signs of a m/c, there is nothing they can do to stop the m/c, only a surgical procedure they can do to manage/treat it.

Not necesariky. With my first m/c I had brown spotting, went in for an ultrasound which confirmed there was no baby, then didn't strart actually bleeding for another 2 weeks. Not to scare you, but if a miscarriage is going to happen it doesn't always happen right after you see brown. With my second miscarriage, I had brown spotting but didn't ever miscarry naturally. After 4 weeks I had a d&c.

Like other posters have said though, it is most likely nothing to worry about!

No spotting, it's scant. But still a bit of brown when I pee. I have an ultrasound on the 23rd so we'll see what happens at that point.

Don't give up hope mama I had bleeding from 8w5d through 20w or so... it started as brown, but turned to red, then would go away, then come back again... over and over and all different colors and presentations. But I'm now 30 weeks along and this little girl in my belly shows no signs of slowing down!! My OB told me that around 30% of normal, healthy pregnancies will have some bleeding along the way.

So hang in there mama, and love this baby today no matter what None of us know what tomorrow will bring, so enjoy your blessings today and keep your spirits up!

Thank you Erica Now all my discharge is brown, more of a red brown than before. I still feel really good but I want it to go away. I'm not filling a pad and no cramping or vomiting at all.

I used the time to research and talk to more people and I'm hoping that I am dealing with a low lying placenta that will move up as my pregnancy progresses, or maybe a very sensitive cervix.

I have been spotting as well, and I do spot in my pregnancy's. I have a VERY sensitive cervix.
