Re: Breast-like bottle reviews

Mimijumi were the only ones we could get DS2 to take, he's 5 weeks tomorrow. Got lucky with DS1, he took Gerber bottles!

Re: Breast-like bottle reviews

As a retired maternity nurse, I don't believe in "nipple confusion" from bottles or soothers. I *do* however, believe in "flow confusion." Make sure whatever bottle you get has a very slow flow. A baby that gets used to even a little more fast flow from a bottle can get lazy and frustrated at the breast to the point of refusal.

In our house "we" LOVE the brown/rubber-ish wide mouth Playtex Nurser bottle.
However, when my 4 yr old DD was nursing, *she* told me that the Adiri Breast Bottle was "just like ma-ma." (Ma-ma was what she called nursing.) If that's not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is. LOL

You don't believe in it until you've experienced it.

I used the playtex brown latex nipples with dd and introduced her at about 3 weeks, and had no issues with getting her to go between bottle and breast. They have a slow flow. I am planmimg on those again with the newbie and really hope for no issues because I have to be back at work 5 weeks pp.

I love the Medela Calma nipples. My daughter would nurse first then have her bottle (I had low supply and supplemented for a couple months while I built my supply) We never had problems. She had to work to get that formula, and she never favoured the bottle.

Re: Breast-like bottle reviews

I have used the platex nursers (either vent air or drop in system) for all three of my kidos. No confusion at all. I introduce bottle at 3 weeks.

As for other sucking--
DS1 sucked his thumb, used the bottle at daycare, and nursed nights/weekends. no nipple confusion
DS2--bottle/breast
DD--soothie pacifier/fingers/bottle/breast and no confusion. She is my best nurser so far and is a huge pacifier or finger sucker.

We used Tommee Tippee and used Adiri. My kids took both great and went back to breast without a problems.
I actual have 2 brand new and one super slightly used Adiri bottle on FSOT right now.

I'm mobile.... sorry for the typos!
