Re: Tdap vaccine (pertussis/whooping cough)?

I still encourage you to watch the video. It's about the vaccine, not about outbreaks of whooping cough. It really is not a good idea during pregnancy.

Besides, even if the reason for a high percentage of those with whooping cough being vaccinated is because a high percentage of people are vaccinated, doesn't that show how ineffective the vaccine is?

Wasn't planning on getting it while pregnant anyway. Like I said I haven't done much research on this one, but I do know enough statistics to know it's not that simple either way. Everyone can their own decision obviously!

For sure! It's just best to be informed.

Re: Tdap vaccine (pertussis/whooping cough)?

I got my booster at my annual check up this year, and didn't realize I was pregnant at the time. I'm glad I got it out of the way, but probably would have waited until post partum if I'd known I was expecting.

My doctor just mentioned this to me... I am will get one this spring, around 20 weeks.

Tetnus is in soil, and I garden a.lot. People do not realize that Tetnus is very serious and easy to get!
