Re: What to do when fitteds and wool don't work?

I'm with a Previous Poster that they are TOO much.

No Microfiber used here at night. You may need to RINSE/WASH these several times.

Since they ARE used, you don't know how the previous OWNER treated them.

Maybe I'm not understanding how to tell if a fitted is too wet? The ENTIRE outside is wet and the wool is damp. I think she's waking because of the wetness, but idk for sure. How dobi know if I'm needing to up absorbency or not?

The fitted will be wet all over. You will have leaks if you do not have enough absorbency or you have gaping around the diaper. I put my son in a sbish snapless with the small insert and wool longies. The sbish is always soaked and wool is damp but we don't have any leaks. If we did, I would add the second doubler.

If baby is still waking why don't you go ahead and change her?

If you think the wetness is bothering her then definitely look into Motherease stay dry doublers........I don't think all stay dry is created equal and I found these way better then fleece or suede cloth.

I'll look into doublers, thanks! I could change her each time she wakes, but I am trying to get her to sleep longer streches since she is 13mo and each time I change her, it's harder to put her back to sleep.

My kids have had heavy wetting streaks. If all else fails . . . We did a sposie, with a good fitted over the top. Topped with wool. That did not leak. Lol

If you haven't tried hemp, I think adding a hemp doubler or two will make a big difference. I recommend the Premium JoeyBunz. Place them under the soaker of the fitted, next to the inner diaper shell.

Is she a heavy wetter through the day? Is the pee pretty clear? Drinking a lot of water or juice? She may need a tiny pinch of salt on her food for electrolyte balance.

For my oldest we need a PUL cover under wool to keep the sheets dry. I would also check out hemp instead of the MF. Some Thirsties doublers.
