Re: 2013 Get Moving/Keep Moving (daily exercise thread)

I started last year with just walking around the block a few times,
and finished the year with a half marathon under my belt!!

If the will is there, you can do it!!

This year my goal is to log 1300 miles and to run 13 races in 2013.

I started the year with a 5k Resolution Run. It was COLD! 21 degrees, and there was a HUGE hill, but I made it in 32:15.

On Saturday the 5th, I ran a virtual 10k. It was 22 and windy but I did 59:23.

1/2: 4.25 miles (hills)
1/3: 2.5 miles elliptical
1/4: rest

Re: 2013 Get Moving/Keep Moving (daily exercise thread)

I need to be more active. The only time I lose weight is when I'm exercising. I don't have to kill myself doing it, but I do have to move. So right now my plan is to keep doing the walk away the lbs dvds until I have enough endurance and energy that I can try 30 Day shred again. It hurts my joints pretty badly but I get awesome results. I worked out faithfully the whole first half of last year. Then in late summer I got pregnant (I'm high risk so no hard workouts, and limited activity for the first few months), then I lost it and with it I lost all motivation for losing weight and getting healthy. So, it's a new year. Time to recommit, and go for it. I'd like to finally lose the last 20 lbs I have to go (or heck I'd even take 15) and be healthy enough that I don't get tired walking up stairs or around at work.
I've been pretty faithfully doing the Walking DVDs the last two weeks. Yesterday I moved up to the three mile workout, and today I decided to try the four mile one. I'm tired but I did it. And according to my HRM I burned just over 600 calories! Yay, I can have yummy snacks today!

I'm just going to track from yesterday to the end of the month:
1/19- 3 mile walk away the lbs dvd + ab work +cleaning the house
1/20- 4 mile walk away the lbs dvd + ab work
1/21-3 mile walk DVD +abs
1/22-1 mile walk dvd + abs
1/23- 2 mile walk dvd
1/24-Rest
1/25- 1 mile walk dvd
1/26-Shoveling snow and ice and moving panels to set up a barn.
1/27- 4 mile walk dvd + abs 65 min. total
1/28 1 mile walk
1/29break
1/30 2 mile walk
1/31snowshoeing and cross country skiing
2/1 Yoga

Marathon training here. It stinks right now - I'm running in single digit weather.
