Re: unassisted home birth
My first was a hosp birth, second hb w/mw, and third started as u/c but ended up at hosp. Minor complications, but I had reached my limit with labor (12hrs at home), he came out after 24 hrs, cord wrapped around his neck and purple like barney. He was fine, but I don't know if I could have done 12 more hrs at home. I would have liked to have a mw there but there are none in my area. I am planning on laboring at home and then going to the hosp at the last minute. I think you have to make an educated choice for yourself. Weigh the pro's/cons and have a back up plan. I didn't even know about hb's with my first, lol. GL whatever you choose!

Update: I have done more research and decided to do it at Mercy since they have a water birthing tub there.
![]() Will start a new thread about birth plans in hospitals.
