Ha ha my mom just told me that my neighbors growing up were both pregnant and had children around the same time. They went on a long trip together and one lady started to become enforced. While the other lady went to the washroom she quick grabbed both babies and tandem fed. When the other lady got back she was 'damn... I'm full too!!!' Ha ha.

Re: Breastfeeding other's children
Now that you mention it. I think I have this thought deep down. Especially, when the baby you are holding starts to rooting around. It is like, "Okay, I will let you have some too."

My niece is 5 months older than my son and I always wanted to nurse her when she was upset as well. I think it's totally natural.

Re: Breastfeeding other's children
My mom and her sisters bf'd each others babies if they were watching them etc. They all had several babies close to each other so it worked well... Want to go out to dinner? Leave baby with your sis. No bottle required

Re: Breastfeeding other's children
My mil said she did watch few but they weren't taking bottle & it was when she still nursed hers so not way out of the way to feed another.

If anything ever happened to me I would hope a friend would offer to nurse my baby, and I'd hope hubby would be okay with it knowing that it was what I would prefer vs formula.

When I first went back to work and was worried about pumping and my supply sil offered me her milk in the freezer. She's a sahm and isn't separated from baby. I was very touched by that, even though we didn't end up needing it.

Re: Breastfeeding other's children
My cousin's husband was nursed by his aunts, I guess they all nursed each others children so that they would get different antibodies. He never gets sick so it must have had an effect on his immune system!
