Re: Had our 20 week ultrasound today...

DS2 had them at my anatomy scan at 17ish weeks. My midwife said it wasn't really a concern and that they'd check again around 28 weeks. By the time they scanned him again they had resolved.

Re: Had our 20 week ultrasound today...

A friend of mine has two kiddos that had this, and one of them even had a marker on her kidney or something? I can't remember. Anyway, at a scan a few weeks later, everything had been resolved, and her kids are perfectly happy and healthy.

Did you find out what you are having?

That puts my worries at ease a little.
They wrote the gender down. We'll know next Friday at our reveal party

Yup. For some babies, it's just part of the growth process. I definitely wouldn't stress yet, especially if they didn't find anything else! Good luck at your gender reveal. I wish I had the patience for that, lol.

Re: Had our 20 week ultrasound today...

DD had one and at a 26W U/S it was gone. It's one of those oddities that they are now realizing are fairly common and not much to worry about.

DS had one and it was gone at 25 weeks. I totally freaked out that something was wrong because my OB was not very informative. Try not to worry unless there is something else that comes up.

Re: Had our 20 week ultrasound today...

Just wanted to share my little girl had a choroid plexus cyst too at her 20 wk ultrasound - they actually didn't even tell me while they were looking at her, I asked because I could see it, and they were like "oh don't worry, we don't even worry about those anymore," basically because the ultrasounds are much more advanced then they used to be, and without any other markers for a defect, it's highly unlikely that it means anything, and like other mamas have said, it usually goes away but is just a phase of development. My little girl is 16 months now and I never even went back to get another ultrasound to see if it had gone away, since they said it was up to me as they weren't worried about it. She's developing fine too btw

Re: Had our 20 week ultrasound today...

I'm so glad you're getting reassuring comments on here. I wish I could help, but I know nothing about cysts in utero. I'm sure it'll be resolved naturally with time, just like the other mama's said

That's awesome about the gender reveal party!! Sounds like a lot of fun!
A friend of mine did something similar and had a big cake with chocolate frosting and dyed the color of the cake inside the sex of the baby and so when they went to cut the cake, thats when everyone knew....they were having a girl based on the pink colored cake!
