Re: Homemade Laundry Soap for Diapers???

Yep! I make our detergent using Fels Naptha, borax, washing soda and oxy clean. We use it on cloth diapers and it works really good. Once a month I replace the detergent mixture with a few squirts of dawn dish soap to get rid of any build up. As much as we do laundry washing diapers, making your detergent saves a ton.

this is GREAT to know! that is the combo that I have here at home, and have been hesitant to try it... do you make it a liquid? or keep it a powder?
and do you have a HE washer? or regular? (mine is an LG HE top loader).

I make a HM diaper detergent with Oxiclean and no soap. It's working but only with bleach. I'm now experimenting with the recipe using Borax, washing soda, Oxiclean, ivory and purex crystals and it works with out bleach.

I'm experimenting too. So far my first batch is

1 3/4 c tropical traditions bar coconut soap, frozen and then put through a fine shredder on the food processor.
1 3/4 c washing soda
1/4 c oxyclean
1/2 packet lemishine (we have hard water)

It seems to work ok, though my tester (a little cloth wipe which I prestained with a million things, lol) did not get clean until I added a prewash with 1/4 c Clorox.

I'm still working on it...
