Omg! I just had this same conversation today! Amelia will be fussing and mil will say "oh she just wants some titty!" I don't think she realizes that she will be nursing long enough to repeat that!

Re: What do you call it?

I always just referred to it as nursing, but when I talked to the babies I always said, "Are you hungry?" so they would say, "Ugah!" in the beginning and later "Ungy!" and paw at my shirt if they wanted to nurse. Most of the time, things were so routine, that my breasts let me know before the LO did that they needed to nurse.

Mama or mommy milk is what we call it when talking to our LOs. My ds say um-mum & points or pulls at my shirt though. He's 12M.

Re: What do you call it?

I always ask, "Do you want some milk?" or "Do you want to nurse?" I personally don't care for any of the nicknames a lot of people like.

Re: What do you call it?

DD learned "ba" from her older cousin and even taught her younger cousin. It's hilarious nursing a 2 year old who calls nursing "ba". She comes up to me and politely asks, "May I have ba, Mama?" Then she starts singing Ba Ba black sheep, have you any wool...
