We bought the Starfall learn to read set of 15 books. Zac the rat and other tales. They're great.

I use progressive phonics for my son he loves them and they are free.

I didn't read through but I have two of them that you can have FFS. Sam and Sam something else. I'll dig them out. They may have some crayon on them. I'll check. PM if you want them.

Just so you know, the blog In Lieu of Preschool has some nice, helpful printables that go along with the BOB books.

Oh!!! I those.

I just got the BOB books. I started with set #2. He apparently needs set #1. Set #2 is just a TINY bit too hard for him. Definitely too challenging. He can muscle through them, but they're so hard for him, that they take the fun out of it.

.... I might get the Starfall ones instead of getting BOB set #1.
