24 or 48 ?

Totally depends on the child. My very smart 5 year old daughter gets frustrated with puzzles and can't do a 24 piece puzzle. On the other hand, my 2.5 year old DD can do puzzles better than my 5 year old because my 2 year old doesn't get frustrated.

Yup, totally depends on the kid. DS1 could do a 150 piece when he was 5, but DS2 can only handle about 50 at 5. I say get something like 50 to start and see how they do.

they are quite cheap, our fav brand has 36/60 and we have some of both around that age

Depends on the kid. My two girls were doing 24 before age 2, they would be bored with that at 5, but it really depends on the child. I know they would still do a 24 piece puzzle once or twice but it wouldn't be a big challenge. So I would lean towards 48 to be on the safe side. At least they can grow into it if they're not ready for it yet!

Depends on the kid totally! My 4yr old can do a 100 piece with a bit of help. He loves loves loves loves puzzles.

Depends on the kid. My 5 year old was doing 100/200 piece puzzles. My 3.5 year old is miles away from that.

Okay well try a few sizes. He used to Kobe puzzles. I need somé activities he can do while im working since he goes to work with me now.
